General Information & Gym Policies
Location & Entrance

Classes are held in the gymnasium at St. Andrews School’s Gymnasium, 8 St. Andrews Road.

When entering the school please use the gym doors closest to the gymnasium.
Prior to First Class of the session
-
Please review our Code of Conduct for Parents and Gymnasts prior to the first class.
-
Children should be dropped off 5-10 minutes before classes start and picked up promptly after classes end.
-
Coats and outdoor clothing may be left neatly piled on the floor inside the gym. The change rooms are not available for us to use.

Gymnasts are required to be on time and participate in the entirety of the class, including the warm up, to the best of their ability.
Attire & Personal Items
-
For practice, gymnasts are to wear a body suit or t-shirt/shorts and bare feet for classes.

Competitive Gymnasts are required to purchase a team leotard and wear that for competitions.
-
Hair chin length or longer should be tied back; a braid is the most comfortable for tumbling.

No dangly jewelry/necklaces/bracelets, but earring studs or small hoops are ok.

All students should bring Water Bottles. No juice, pop, or food allowed in the gym.

All students who carry cell phones must turn off their phones during class. Phones should be stored away during class time.

St. Andrews Gymnastics is not liable for any lost or stolen items.
Parent & Guardian Expectations

Parents are asked not to enter the gym doors during class times.

If your child has special needs and you require to be in the gym, please email us to discuss with Head Coach and Program Director.

Children not registered in the program may not enter the gym during class times, for safety and insurance reasons.

Our Insurances covers only registered gymnasts and coaches.
Health & Safety
-
If your child is experiencing flu or COVID related symptoms, we ask that you do not attend classes.
-
Coaches must be made aware of all injuries, medical conditions, allergies & limitations.
-
If you child uses an inhaler, or EpiPen, it must accompany them at all times.
-

If your child is not enjoying their experience and/or disrupting classes and taking away from the learning of others, we reserve the right to remove them from class.
Communication

Important information will be emailed.

Parents are responsible for checking emails regularly.

We also encourage you to join our social media groups. This will ensure you are aware of notices of class cancellations.

If Lord Selkirk School Division closes due to weather, our classes are automatically cancelled and NO make up classes will be offered as weather events are beyond our control.

Pre-Competitive and Competitive gymnast’s parents are asked to assist with evening equipment tear down dates.
School Use Expectations

Our permit restricts us to the gymnasium area.

We have been asked to ensure that parents and children involved in gymnastics:

Eenter and exit by the doors closest to the gym
-
Remove outdoor shoes at the door
-
Refrain from wandering in the hallways or using other rooms.

Please do not to park in the bus loop in front of the school.
-
This is an emergency vehicle lane in the event of a fire/accident.
-
Vehicles may be towed if parked in the bus loop.
-
Parking is available in the staff lot on the east side of the building.
