General Information, Policies and Waivers

General Information & Gym Policies

  • Classes are held in the gymnasium at St. Andrews School’s Gymnasium, 8 St. Andrews Road.  When entering the school please use the gym doors closest to the gymnasium.
  • Please review our Code of Conduct for Parents and Gymnasts prior to the first class.
  • Children should be dropped off 5-10 minutes before classes start and picked up promptly after classes end.
  • For practice, gymnasts are to wear a body suit or t-shirt/shorts and bare feet for classes. Gymnasts registered in the Competitive Program are required to purchase a team leotard and wear that for competitions.
  • Hair chin length or longer should be tied back; a braid is the most comfortable for tumbling. No dangly jewelry/necklaces/bracelets, but earring studs or small hoops are ok.
  • Coats and outdoor clothing may be left neatly piled on the floor inside the gym the change rooms are not available for us to use.
  • All students should bring Water Bottles. No juice, pop, or food allowed in the gym.
  • All students who carry cell phones must turn off their phones during class. Phones should be stored away during class time.
  • St. Andrews Gymnastics is not liable for any lost or stolen items.
  • Parents are asked not to enter the gym doors during class times. If your child has special needs and you require to be in the gym, please email us to discuss with Head Coach and Program Director.
  • Gymnasts are required to be on time and participate in the entirety of the class, including the warm up, to the best of their ability. If your child is not enjoying their experience and/or disrupting classes and taking away from the learning of others, we reserve the right to remove them from class.
  • If your child is experiencing flu or COVID related symptoms, we ask that you do not attend classes.
  • Coaches must be made aware of all limitations, including physical, sickness/illnesses, and allergiesIf your child uses an inhaler or Epi-pen, these items must accompany them at all times.
  • Important information will be emailed. Parents are responsible for checking emails regularly. We also encourage you to join our social media groups. This will ensure you are aware of notices of class cancellations. If Lord Selkirk School Division closes due to weather, our classes are automatically cancelled and NO make up classes will be offered as weather events are beyond our control.
  • Our insurance covers only the registered gymnasts and coaches. Parents and siblings are not covered in case of accident or mishap. Children not involved in lessons are not to enter the gym doors during class times.
  • Competitive gymnast’s parents are required to pay a $100 volunteer bond and sign up for evening equipment tear down dates. If the volunteer dates are fulfilled the club will refund the $100 bond at the end of the season.

Use of school

  • Our permit for the use of the school restricts us to the gymnasium area. We have been asked to ensure that parents and children involved in gymnastics enter and exit by the doors closest to the gym, remove outdoor shoes at the door and refrain from wandering in the hallways or using other rooms including the staff room.
  • Parents are requested not to park in the bus loop in front of the school as this is an emergency vehicle lane in the event of a fire/accident.  Parking is available in the staff lot on the east side of the building. Vehicles may be towed if parked in the bus loop.

Your cooperation in these matters is greatly appreciated.  Your questions, concerns and comments are always welcome.  Please feel free to contact our club email info@standrewsgymnastics.co.site
