
Gymnast Code of Conduct
At St. Andrews Gymnastics, we want every gymnast to feel safe, supported, and proud of their progress. As part of our community, all athletes agree to the following expectations:
1. Treat Others with Respect
Gymnasts must:
- Treat teammates, coaches, volunteers, and school staff with kindness, courtesy, and respect.
- Listen to coaches and follow instructions the first time they are given.
- Use encouraging and positive language toward others.
Respectful behaviours keeps our gym safe and welcoming for everyone.
2. Follow Gym Rules & Behave Safely
To ensure a safe training environment, gymnasts must:
- Stay with their assigned group or class.
- Wear appropriate clothing.
- Use equipment only when instructed.
- Avoid running, roughhousing, screaming or distracting others.
Safety is our top priority. Unsafe behaviour may result in a gymnast being asked to sit out or, if necessary removed from class.
3. Take Care of Out Facility & Equipment
- Treat equipment gently and respectfully.
- Help keep the gym tidy by placing belongings in designated areas.
- Respect the school facility by using only the spaces allowed under our permit.
4. Attend Practice Regularly & Be Ready to Learn
Gymnasts are expected to:
- Attend class consistently.
- Arrive on time and ready to participate.
- Try their best, stay focused, and participate in all part of training, including warm-ups and conditioning.
5. Speak Positively & Represent Our Club Well
Gymnasts should:
- Speak kindly about teammates, other clubs, and the sport of gymnastics.
- Refrain from negative, hurtful, or disrespectful comments in person or on social media.
- Bring any concerns to their coach, the head coach, or the program director rather than discussing them with other athletes.
